We are instituting a different and more formal process for allocating lit practice fields for the 2008/09 season. The attachments below give all the details, and include the Application Form. Please e-mail the completed Application Form to Mike Alivojvodic, our Lit Practice Field Coordinator, by June 27, 2008.

Applications are required for Divisional teams (U11 – U18 Boys and Girls). In addition, the U9 and U10 Boys will be running a special program that will have them practicing on the lit outdoor fields, thus they are required to fill in the application form as well. For our Mini Program (U7 – U10 Girls and U7 – U8 Boys), those teams will be coordinated in September and will be allocated indoor gym practice times. Separate notifications will be sent out to the Mini teams in mid-September once their registrations are complete. If there is space available on the outdoor lit fields after the practice time assignments have been made, then those times will be made available to the Mini teams, should some of them wish to practice on the outdoor fields.

The Divisional teams application forms for the lit practice fields are due by June 27th, 2008. We are hoping this will allow players to schedule other activities in a way that minimizes conflicts with soccer in the fall. Note that the lit fields are only available for use after October 1st. The grass fields for summer use or for use in September are not a part of this application process. During the summer and in September, teams will not have formally designated practice fields and will need to cooperate with each other to share the available neighbourhood grass fields.

Please note that the application for lit fields will not be processed until the team affiliation forms are submitted. This is also not a “first come, first served” approach. The intent is to have all the application forms in by June 27th. These will then be reviewed and practice field timeslots will be assigned. The assigned timeslots will be posted onto this web page and each contact person named on the application form will be notified. Should teams not submit an application form by June 27th, there will be no guarantee that they will be able to get any of their preferred days and/or times and will be left to choose from whatever is left over. We do not wish to have any teams in this predicament, so please review this with your players and parents, and then submit the application before the deadline.
