Coach (es) and Assistant Coach (es) Activities

Assign a Team Manager, Volunteer Manager and Uniform and Equipment Manager is assigned at the beginning of the year. The responsibilities of the Managers ultimately reside with the coach if a manager cannot be found. If parents are unresponsive please call email your Age Group Coordinator for assistance.

Participate in the Clubs attempts to create equal teams at each age group.

Accept and adhere to:

Attend coaches yearly orientation session

Maintains a simple First Aid Kit and is aware of basic First Aid procedures.

Consult with parents with regard to practice field and time. Although the schedule of the Coach takes precedent. Submit requests for practice times.

Carefully supervise players or delegate supervision to a parent volunteer. For example, if a parent is late picking up a player you must stay with that player until he or she arrives or arrange for a volunteer parent to assume the responsibility.

All Coaches and parent volunteers are covered by B.C. Soccer Insurance for general liability. Only if a Risk Management Form has been submitted.
Team Manager Job / Activity Description

Maintains the team contact list.

Helps the Coach prepare and re-stock the teams First Aid Kit.

Make sure every parent has read Parent Guidelines - Helping Your Team

Determines the status of fields every Friday evening and advises Coach and players of status. Field status information.

Arranges team socials if desired.

Organizes the gift to the coach at season end.

Determines, in conjunction with the Coaches, the teams budget (which may include a contribution from the parents).

Responsible for meeting the teams volunteer requirement as assigned by the Clubs Volunteer Coordinator. This will usually be related to special events like Opening Day or Closing Day.

Completes Team Volunteer Form after confirming availability of parents or players for the volunteer role.

Answers questions regarding volunteer activity.

Phones volunteers just prior to each commitment to insure attendance at event or activity.
