Former Pt. Grey goalkeeper Katrina Persson-Thomas, whose dad Dave Thomas, still coaches at Pt. Grey, saved two penalty shots as her Coastal U16 Girls team beat Quickstrike FC from New York on penalties after the game finished 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

Persson-Thomas' last save was the clincher and brought Coastal one of two Y League Championships on the day as Jason Jordan's U16 boys team also went on to win on penalties. The two Coastal titles match the sum total of all BC Y League team titles to this point and ranks as a phenomenal achievement in just the clubs third year. Team coach and Coastal GM Ciaran McMahon was almost in shock at the success in Tampa. "It's really an amazing achievement for these girls and for the club in general. Katrina was the difference in the penalties. If your keeper can save two she's giving you a golden opportunity to win it and she did that."
